Kayla Rasmussen

Associate Clinical Social Worker

Kayla is an Associate Clinical Social Worker in the Trauma Recovery Center and in Youth Services. She has been practicing in the mental health field in various capacities since 2016 and as a mental health therapist since 2023. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University – Idaho in 2021 and from Northwest Nazarene University with her Masters in Social Work in 2024.

Kayla is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Level 1 Method Training for Couples, and Gottman Treating Trauma and Affairs for Couples. In her practice, she also enjoys utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Coherence Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Kayla is passionate about utilizing experiential modalities such as sand tray, art, music, and movement to assist in expanding emotional expression and understanding. Additionally, she loves to play! While at CCS, she has enjoyed working with children, teens, adults, and couples.

Kayla has always had a passion for people, intrigued by their stories and experiences of resilience. Her therapeutic philosophy is to consider where people have been and how their life experiences have influenced their current world view, thinking patterns, and emotional understandings. Kayla loves to make genuine connections with those she works with and finds her work to be so meaningful as she becomes a part of clients healing journeys. She is honored to witness the stories shared by her clients and finds joy in watching skill sets develop, qualities of life improve, and understanding deepened.
